Banana Bread – wholesome style :)

Banana Bread – No Sugar, No Oil just wholesome goodness!
2 slightly over ripe medium bananas
1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cups of old fashioned oats
3 egg whites (3 oz if you use it from a carton)
1/3 cup unsweetened apple sauce (can use sweetened if you need a little more sweet)
1 tsp vanilla, maple or almond extract
cinnamon and/or chopped nuts can be used as topping (optional, not calculated in calories below)
if you need some sweet – use a sweetener that withstands cookingInstructions
Preheat oven to 400 F. Spray a loaf pan with fat free cooking spray and set aside.

In a large bowl, combine all the wet ingredients and mash together (bananas, egg whites, apple sauce, extract).
Next, add the flour, oats, and baking powder. Blend together very well. :)
Add the cake like mixture to the loaf pan.
Add toppings if desired before tossing it into the oven. Cook for about 20-25 minutes or until a fork can be poked in the middle and come out nice and clean!  If you use a different shaped pan you might want to start checking around 15 minutes…9 servings – 135 cal, 1 g of fat, 6 gram fiber, 5 gram protein, a whole lot of yummy!
